Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope:
Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
I say to myself, "The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him."

sunshine!

this is silly to be posting when it's cold, gray, and raining outside... but oh well! just a few pictures from the brief bout of sunshine 2 weeks ago:

"let me out already!"

A series from "weeding" -- I started tugging up a giant mass of dead roots/weeds/whatever, and discovered that it was somewhat like an iceberg (that is, much larger underground). I enlisted Corey's help and we managed to get it out of the ground, leaving behind a dent in our flowerbed:
In case you can't see that, here's a close-up:
What came out? Good question. Your guess is as good as ours:
No, seriously. Take a guess. They break like potatoes and half were rotten, but they're too small and all stuck together... Don't look like bulbs to me, but why else bury them out back??

Anyway, our other fun from the sunshine weekend was getting an early start (read: before 9) and checking out our church's rummage sale. Good plan! We found:

for me :-) so fun! it's in really good condition and was super-cheap, so yay!

for Corey (yes, that's an organ. no, we don't play. yet.)

We've been talking about getting a piano, but it's pretty unrealistic right now (not really in our budget for the next few years anyway!) so when we saw the organ for $100, we couldn't pass it up! It works perfectly, is in flawless condition, and even came with some beginner books in the bench. Corey's been playing with it pretty much every day, but no one loves it as much as Benjamin. I'll have to get some video of him "playing" -- he's really not half bad! Plus, he's so proud of himself when he can make all of the different noises ;-)

Anyway, the sunshine can come back any day now... we probably got more accomplished around the house and yard in those 48 hours than we have all winter! Next week (my "break" until summer session) would be an excellent time for that to return!

What a happy family! I love that you guys have an organ. That's fantastic.
